I just found out that I'm going to see Harry Potter tonight! XD; Some people I know had an extra ticket, so how could I pass up that opportunity? I'm excited, even though it's probably gonna suck even worse than the last one... XD;

Ooh, have fun! It wasn't bad- actually, the Dept. of Mysteries was fantastic. And they didn't change or rearrange much too much!

(Note: my reaction may have to do with having seen it at midnight with enthusiastic crowd in full-on costume)

No, I agree. I definitely enjoyed this movie the most out of all the movies so far. Some scenes were just really good. I can't vouch for the not changing things, because I have an issue with amnesia for this particular book. XD;;

And my crowd wasn't at midnight or in costume, for the most part, but it was very enthusiastic! I think that did make a difference.

I saw it yesterday with my family, two of which are huge Harry Potter fans so we were discussing all the differences. I really liked Luna and I thought they did a decent job with Umbridge, but I thought they left out too much and rushed a bit. I would have liked to see a little bit of all the quidditch and Cho in the tea shop drama or made Sirus' death more than just floating off, but over all I think it was pretty good. I was really glad they left a lot of the Fred and George parts in. :)

Yeah, Luna and Umbridge were both really good. There was a lot of stuff missing when you start to think about it, but I think the movie as a whole was quite enjoyable. It definitely exeeded my (very low) expecations. :)

Yea, like you said, I don't remember a whole lot about the fifth book, no clue why.
But the cinematography in the film was really quite dapper, not to mention some scenes were just hilarious. Maybe I'm easily amused...
But ok wow, Voldemort is only the flounciest most fabulous darklord ever. XD <Voldemort's face like the whole movie They took out a lot of Harry emo-ness, which is both a good and bad thing. I sorta feel I've been cheated out of the angst that was most surely there in the book. but overall, I liked.

Yeah there was some pretty amusing stuff. I was glad that they at least didn't botch one of my favorite scenes from the book (one of the few I really remember), the one where Harry's talking to Ron and Hermione about kissing Cho.

XD;; Voldemort didn't necessarily strike me as "flouncy," but ok.

And yeah, the OMG TEEN ANGST-ness of the book got on my nerves a bit, so I didn't miss it all that much...
